A Very Rare Moment Indeed

The presentation of a 50th anniversary jewel, by its very nature, is not an everyday occurrence in Masonic circles – but when three occur in the same lodge and on the same day must surely be very rare indeed. Brothers Robert A Cairns, Harry St. Clair-Gunn and Charles D Beattie IPM were initiated on 24 January 1973 and Passed, Raised and Advanced together later that year. RWM Steve Burnett congratulated them and thanked all three for 50 years of loyal and devoted service to Freemasonry in general and Lodge Rosslyn St. Clair in particular.

Regrettably, Bro. Robert could not be present on this occasion but the RWM intimated that he would personally present the Anniversary Jewel and Grand Lodge certificate to him in due course. Mrs Helen St. Clair-Gunn and Mrs Anne Beattie who had earlier been invited into the Temple then witnessed their husbands being presented with their jewel and framed certificate as the RWM gave details of the active service each had given to the Craft including in the case of Bro. Beattie, having held the office of Master on three separate occasions.
