It is with great sadness we report the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Brother Dougie Murray on 5 September 2023 at the age of 84 Bro. Dougie was Initiated into Freemasonry on 24 March 1993, and Passed, Raised and Advanced all in the same year. He never sought high office but served our Lodge and General Committee faithfully for many years as Architect, and in 2004 arranged many social activities on behalf of the then Reigning Master. In the day, Bro. Dougie was a keen bowler and fisher who represented the Lodge in many inter-lodge competitions. In a past life he was an enthusiastic photographer, but was never keen on being caught on the ‘wrong’ side of the lens!
Sadly, Bro. Dougie did not enjoy the best of health in his latter years and was confined to hospital and care homes until his passing. He will be sorely missed by all who new him during his Masonic career, as a Brother and a friend.
