It is the evening of 14 April 2022 and RWM Chick Beattie delivers a touching tribute to Bro. Alex Barrett PM before presenting him with his Distinguished Service Medal and Grand Lodge of Scotland Diploma
Before the assembled Brethren of Rosslyn St. Clair and a very large Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Midlothian led by Provincial Grand Master Bro. Stephen Humphries, Brother Alex Barrett PM was honoured by his Lodge as a Distinguished Member. This status was awarded in recognition of the service given by Alex over a very many years, in fundraising for the Lodge and, voluntarily and unprompted – and unheralded, undertaking those many necessary tasks that everyone else shies away from. Bro. Alex has a vibrant and bubbly personality; as a man he is a tribute to Freemasonry in general and to Lodge Rosslyn St. Clair in particular – a Brother to whom we all look up. His new Distinguished status is indeed very much deserved.
